New Reading of Nikola's Poetry

Since he was publish his very first book of poems "Rebellious Grass" ("Hajducka Trava" on Serbian language) in year 1981., and specially after his second book "Purity Stories" (poems too, on Serbian - "Cedne Price") critic writes notify that new poet is born, but more of that - we have completely new poetry.

Nikola was published eight books of poems till today (soon we expect his new book "The Night of Thousand Winters" - on Serbian "Noc Od Hiljadu Zima"). Twenty-four years after his first book of poems, critic writers still have no instruments how to define his poems. Because that, we have three very different group of critic writers about these poems:

First group have in mind that critic theory have no instruments to define Nikola's poetry, and because that they avoid to giving any comment about his work (except similar: "... he is completely different...").

Second group, in the very beginning was been very strongly against poetry of Nikola Kitanovic (some of them because they was not recognize new poetry, but some of them because Nikola was been strongly against communistic dictature in his country, and after that he was been in anti-war activities). But today, there are no serious critic writer who wrote anything against Mr Kitanovic's poetry.

Finally, third group of critic writers recognize in Nikola new "cursed poet" and they look on his poetry as his destiny. They do believe that Nikola is chosen one - somebody who changing our "spiritual touch" of poetry.
